Breanna Ondich - Wildlife Biologist & Photographer

Welcome to Wild Breeze Photography! Here you can find a collection of my favorite images of wildlife and nature, predominantly from the Southeastern United States and Costa Rica.

I grew up near the Appalachian Trail in the remote countryside of northern New Jersey and graduated from the University of Tampa with a B.Sc. in Marine Science-Biology and a minor in Environmental Science.  I have lived in Australia and Costa Rica, and have spent time traveling in Honduras. I moved to Coastal Georgia in early 2011 and have become enchanted with its deep southern wilderness. lived in Coastal Georgia for ten years serving four terms with AmeriCorps, working as an interpretive Park Ranger, and later mentoring other AmeriCorps Members while conducting sea turtle, box turtle, and freshwater turtle research, monitoring, and public education on Jekyll Island. I currently work at the University of Georgia in the Odum School of Ecology's River Basin Center coordinating a diversity and inclusion program (Emerge) that aims to broaden participation of underrepresented minorities in the Society of Freshwater Science (SFS).  I am also finishing up my M.Sc. in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology online with Clemson University and working part time as a Program Manager with the Alongside Wildlife Foundation

Photography began as a hobby for me when I was very young. I have completed two courses in graphic design and two courses in black and white film photography. However, many of the digital photography skills I have gained over the past ten yeas have been self taught by exploration and experimentation.

Photography, wildlife ecology, environmental education, science communication, environmental justice, SCUBA diving, computer science, traveling, cooking, and local sustainable foods are among the most integral components of my personal and professional interests.
